8/5: The commons Hack-it bracket

We've created a NEW type of hackathon. It's better in every possible way imaginable. Saturday, August 5th from 9:00am until 7:00pm. Spots are very limited. There will be food, prizes, shirts and other smart people. All alumni welcome!

 

8/9: devCodeCamp Free Workshop: Javascript

Another in the devCodeCamp series of free workshops. This one is an introduction to Javascript. Wednesday, August 9 from 5:45-7:45pm at Ward 4. RSVP here

A sweet new Airbnb startup called Frontdesk is scaling and they're looking for someone in a sales/biz dev role to help them develop new city markets (ie. Louisville, Cleveland, etc). You'd be forming partnerships with landlords, cleaners & movers in a new city for 5 months, off for 1 month, then repeat the cycle twice/year. Solid salary, benefits and profit sharing.

INTERNSHIP: FLORENTINE OPERA

The Florentine Opera is seeking an events intern to help with the planning, implementation and execution of company events. At least 8-10 hours a week preferred. Unpaid internship, but offers college credit and free admission to Florentine productions and events. 
 
They're also looking for an administration intern to help with database entry, graphic design, web updates, social media, press releases, grant applications, and updating calendars of grants and events. Hours mostly needed Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. At least 8-10 hours a week preferred. Unpaid internship, but offers college credit and free admission to Florentine productions and events.
