WHY SHOULD I JOIN?

Creative problem solving and the ‘entrepreneurial mindset’ are incredibly valuable skills to have, but they require hands-on experience. It’s not easy work, but it’s incredibly rewarding. You’ll grow in ways you never knew possible.

We also know that this experience is the perfect place to explore the technical skills you’re learning in the classroom, learn critical professional skills and make the network connections that may result in your next internship or first job. Bonus: most of our academic partners will offer academic credit for participating (usually as an internship credit).

Basically, this is everything we wish we had done while we were in school!

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

We'll put you on a cross-functional team of other driven students from schools across the region and we’ll explore emerging technology, practice creative thinking methodology and build professional skills. Every three weeks, we’ll give you a new, real-world challenge to solve. We’ll bring in a steady stream of local professionals and community leaders to make valuable network connections.

WOULD I BE A GOOD FIT?

We're looking for driven students that want to solve cool problems. We look for students of ANY major and ANY year in school. And we couldn't care less what your GPA is. Instead, we look at the following "personas" for our program:

Hackers - technical and engineering minds
Hipsters - designers, artists and creatives
Hustlers - sales, marketing, finance and business
Handlers - coordinators, organizers and communicators

WHEN + WHERE IS IT?

Fridays at Ward 4: Our workshops run every Friday from September 13 until November 22nd at downtown Milwaukee's Ward 4 space. We’ll take off for Thanksgiving and then host a large “Regional Innovation Showcase” finale event on Friday, December 6.

Two cohorts to choose from: You can apply for the morning cohort from 9:00am - 12:00pm or the afternoon cohort from 1:00 - 4:00pm. If you’re super motivated, you could even do both! Spots are limited to 40 for each cohort.

Lunch + Learn: Every week, from 12:00pm - 1:00pm, you’re invited to join us for free food and great stories from local leaders and industry experts. This is optional, but you won’t want to miss any of them!
